ROULEUR BAR, CLUBHOUSE & ATELIER
Rouleur Oslo opened in 2015 in St. Hanshaugen, then still a relatively quiet and unassuming part of the city. Today, the neighborhood is full of life, and Rouleur has become a main stage for local bon vivants and adventurous spirits from all over town.
The sporty Clubhouse is home to cycling and running clubs, Sankt Hanshaugen Løpeklubb, Skar SK, Valle Velo, Markagram and Dangerous Club, as well as cultural events, book launches, record releases, and more.
Now, in 2025, with the workshop moved 250 meters down the street in need of more space, the former workshop premises are reopening as Atelier Rouleur — an expansion and an even larger venue for gatherings centered around cycling, art, sport and culture.
ART AT ROULEUR
On the end wall in the main bar room hangs what has become a beloved picture witch has been part of Rouleur from the start. It sets the mood and you instantly feel the danger and expectetions hiding behind the bend. The same feeling you might seek going into a bar.
The picture was taken by founder and owner Alexander Kloster-Jensen on one of his many long distance rides through the years. It’s taken while disending from Tourmalet, one of the mythical climbs of the Pyrénees and the world, just before the TDF in 2014.
It’s was the first object to placed in the room when Rouleur started in 2015 and the room was build around it.

On the other side of the room, behind the bar counter hangs another equally iconic picture, loved by the guests. Roughly the same size and also with a certain uneasy vibe. The title is Mechanic Waves #3 by artist and MELK Gallery founder Bezhad Farazollahi, a good friend of Alexander Kloster-Jensen.
Alexander thougt it was a good idea to place it behind the bar since it obviously makes you thirsty. The tension between the two pictures, one is suspense, awaiting the moment, the other is release, letting yourself go into the unknown and chaotic, is very much like a good bar experience. Orbiting the pleasures and sorrows of life.
